What Is HPL Plywood?
HPL plywood is a composite panel made by bonding a decorative High‑Pressure Laminate (HPL) surface onto a plywood core. The HPL layer is produced by saturating kraft papers with phenolic resin and a decorative paper with melamine resin, then compressing them under extreme heat and pressure. This creates an ultra‑dense, rigid surface that is then fused to high‑quality plywood (e.g., birch, poplar, or eucalyptus).
